Premium Profile Launch

Premium Profile Launch

Rob Culpepper·January 19, 2026

Today we are excited to launch Premium Profiles on Daybreak Directory!

Soon after Daybreak went live with free listings, members started to ask about adding items like social links, a second location, and a portfolio. We felt that individual profile pages were the right way to add these elements while giving us room to build new features in line with our original mission: to connect commercial photographers and the creatives who hire them. Along with everything in your listing, the profile adds:

  • Portfolio of 5 images showcased at large scale

  • Links to your social accounts

  • Repped or Independent status, including a link to your rep’s website

  • Categories, which describe the fields in which your photography is used

  • Secondary location (optional)

  • Bio for describing your work, process, clients, anything

  • Dashboard for updating your listing, profile, and images

  • Premium designation on the homepage

The upgrade costs $100/year, which we think is the best deal for marketing your photography business on the internet. To see three upgraded profiles: Cary, Inti, and Jim. For a more in-depth explanation of why we priced the profile where we did, check out this journal post about the business of Daybreak.

Other updates to Daybreak Directory:

  1. We overhauled the search functionality on the homepage and switched to using industry-standard terms for Specialties and Categories. This change will help art buyers quickly find what they’re looking for, which is an important step to helping you get found. Browse by Vibes (our mood-based search feature) is still available, and we encourage you to continue to describe the feelings your work evokes in your own descriptive terms.

Note that we are still working on this feature, so if you see some inconsistencies in the Search, Profile, and Listing terms, we are working hard to resolve them.

  2. We started a Journal. We will use it to feature interviews with photographers, which we hope will add value to our community.

These features are the first of many steps we have planned for Daybreak Directory. If you like what you see, join us on the journey. Upgrade to Premium today and tell your friends!

Many thanks,

Rob & Jake
